Stop and Take a Moment

When was the last time you stopped and took a moment just for you?

When was the last time you took in the sunrise or sunset?

Maybe it was just today. Maybe it has been a while.   Why in this busy life full of things to do every second is it important to just stop for a moment and look around you?   When you finally recognize all that is around you, you connect yourself to something greater.  Life is no longer just about a task you have to get done but if you choose, it can be about your greater purpose in the world.  All just from a brief moment.   I bring this up because I just had this experience.  I was awakened earlier than I would choose by myself. As I got up, I recognized that it was a unique morning. One of stillness, peace, and connection.  It was pitch black but there was a little florescent orange and red popping over the hills.  I knew that moment was just for me.  That florescent color that seemed to light up the whole sky was my moment to connect with my purpose, to brighten the world one purpose at a time.   Still not sure how to slow down, stop and take a moment to connect yourself with your greater purpose.

3 Simple Steps to Moments Made for You.

1. Slow down:  We all have a million things going on.  Your first step is to slow your brain down and that huge to do list just for a moment recognizing that you will probably have greater energy to go back into life with more force.

2. Stop: Yes,  you can do it.  Stop your phone, the kids, the job just for a moment. Lay it all down and look around you. Let your mind come to a halt, just be. What do you see? What do you feel?

3. Stillness:  Be still. Allow the peace that comes from stopping to flood your mind, heart and soul.  Understand that even this moment of stillness or meditation was made just for you, to bring serenity, peace, life and refreshing.   These moments if not practiced can seem to be purposeless but when practiced monthly, then weekly then daily will become the ability you have to connect with your greater purpose and the One who gave it to you.
